FORT WORTH, TEXAS – NOV. 7, 2022 – Sandor Becz, PhD. has joined Elbit Systems of America (Elbit America) as Senior Vice President of Engineering & Technology, bringing an extensive background in the aerospace and defense industry that includes the development of new products, engineering functions, platform strategies, and product portfolios.
“Over the past few years, we have grown our technical capabilities organically and through acquisitions. Sandor’s new position will allow for the coordination of resources and support across Elbit America’s entire engineering and technology functions,” said Elbit America President & CEO Raanan Horowitz. “Sandor is a team builder and innovator. He is an experienced engineering and technology executive and brings extensive experience in full-system product development and manufacturing to Elbit America.”
Prior to joining Elbit America, Becz was Vice President of Engineering and Technology for Unmanned Systems at Huntington Ingalls Industries. There, he led the design and successful entry of several new classes of next-generation unmanned vehicles. He was also key in capturing significant United States and international Navy programs, and integrated multiple legacy organizations into a consolidated, world-class operation. Becz has also held leadership positions at United Technologies Aerospace Systems, currently Collins Aerospace, and United Technologies Research Center, currently Raytheon Technologies. Aside from the accomplishments in Becz’s civilian career, he also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Sandor Becz holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and he completed executive education at Harvard Business School. Becz is also a Professional Engineer and has performed original research in fluid mechanics and hydrodynamics, complex systems design, modeling, robotics and automation, and hybrid power systems.
