FORT WORTH, TEXAS, January 20, 2016 – Elbit Systems of America, a subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd., announced today that Bob Edmonds has joined the company and will serve as Vice President of Marketing, replacing Steve Roser who is retiring after seven years of service with Elbit Systems of America.
Edmonds comes to Elbit Systems of America from Exelis, Inc. where he was Vice President of Business Development and Air Force Programs. In this role, he led Exelis’ business development and government relations efforts and was the senior executive for Air Force and aviation business. He additionally was responsible for the strategic partnerships with their key customers.
At Elbit System of America, Edmonds will continue to use his expertise to help grow the company, developing new business. He will be responsible for leading all marketing activities, which includes integrating and aligning business development, strategy, corporate development, and strategic communications. His team works closely with the different lines of business supporting growth.

Before entering the private sector, Edmonds served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 27 years, retiring at the rank of Brigadier General. He is a command pilot with over 2500 flight hours and 300 combat hours, having led 42 combat missions during Operation Desert Storm. During his career, Bob commanded at the F-15 flight, squadron, and wing level and also served in multiple senior operations and policy positions in the Pentagon. In addition, he has worked in the White House as a White House Fellow and on Capitol Hill as the lead for Air Force congressional affairs for both the House and the Senate as the Deputy Director for Legislative Liaison. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a degree in Civil Engineering. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University as a Guggenheim Fellow. He also received a Masters in National Security Strategy from National War College, and completed an executive education program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
