COMMON CENTRAL INTERFACE UNIT

The Elbit Systems of America Common Central Interface Unit (CCIU) controls operation of the stores management system and provides fault-tolerant processing capabilities on F-16 platforms. Functioning as a digital and discrete interface terminal/controller, the CCIU directs remote interface units to transmit control signals to store and receive updated store status from remote units. The CCIU is a low-cost, F3I replacement for Advanced Central Interface Units. Significantly lighter in weight and requiring less power, the Elbit Systems of America CCIU features dual redundancy, increased memory (2.3 MB/side,) and Ethernet accessibility.
